Had enough of the heat and humidity? Get out of town with the 5BBC!  We plan to leave the hot city for some ocean breezes. Friday September 6 -- Sunday September 8, 2024.

There will be 3 days of riding and some relaxing on the beach on the nearby NJ shore.  We will be staying at a premium B & B, serving gourmet breakfasts, snacks, with a jacuzzi in some rooms.  Yes, a jacuzzi! First come, first served.  All other meals and incidental expenses are at the tripper’s expense. Southern, Cajun, & Italian dining nearby.

There are 6 rooms, for the early bird special of 2 nights for $680.00, for a single room and 340.00 for a shared a room. After 5/13/2024, the price is $695.00 for a single room and $355 per person for a shared room.  (still a deal, but why wait?)  There are 3 rooms with either a queen or a king size bed with a twin pullout, and another 3 rooms with either a queen or a king size bed without the twin pull out. All rooms have a private bathroom.  Please state your preferences and any dietary restrictions, or food allergies. Included are 2 gourmet breakfasts, snacks, homemade cookies, boardwalk, beach access, loaner bikes, some with gears, (ten speeds) coasters, and tandems.   Non riding partners and significant others are welcomed with a 5BBC membership.

There is a secure garage for parking the bikes overnight, and for the beach break.

A $140 deposit will secure your reservation depending your room preference.  Refunds until June 2nd.  Final payment is due on June 10th.  This is a small business, and these rooms are highly desired in the high season and requires an early deposit to secure a reservation.  First come, first serve for all, as this trip is expected to sell out quickly. Suggested packing items

A jacket, rain gear, bike gear, 2 tubes, tools for your bike, sunscreen, sunglasses, credit cards, IDs, insurance cards, etc. some cash for personal expenses and casual wear for dinner.  Please do you own bike check and maintenance before the trip.  As always, smiles and flexibility are always welcomed.

Itinerary

A Friday departure from Penn Station (the rooms will not be ready until 3) We are hoping to do some riding on Friday in the afternoon, Saturday, & Sunday, before a late afternoon departure. You may choose to drive to the B & B but you must contact the ride leaders in advance.

Projected mileage

Friday: 20 to 25 easy miles.

Saturday: 40 to 50 advance moderate pace, w/ an hour or 2 of beach time before dinner.  We may have 2 groups to accommodate rider’s abilities.

Sunday: Some more beach time and or / 20 to 25 easy miles.

Itinerary is subject to change. Overall, it will be relaxed riding, & possibly shortened or lengthened for more beach time, depending on weather.
