NO! This ride has nothing to do with the Presidential inauguration... and there will be no controversy as it will NOT be our largest ever inaugural trip.... we are limiting this one to 15 people - so act fast or miss the opportunity. Space available: 15 cyclists and 2 leaders

Price: $349 Double Occupancy - we will pair you up if you are not coming with a friend - if you need single occupancy, contact leaders as indicated below.

Sign up here!

Transportation: We will be going by 15 passenger van. WE WILL TRANSPORT YOUR BIKES FOR YOU in a cargo van!

Meals: You are responsible for your own food expense. There will be many options available.

Mileage: Mostly flat, some hills, We will scout the rides before we go

Leaders: Allan Friedman and Sharon Behnke

A cycling weekend in Washington DC for less than the cost of an air ticket - $349!

That’s right, a 3 day, 2 night, fun filled trip to Washington DC for just $349 (based on shared occupancy - reach out to Allan if you need your own room).

Friday morning we meet at CC Rentals (now in the West Village, new location details will be provided to those who sign up).

We hit the road by LATEST 8am (earlier if possible) to arrive at our hotel by 1pm.

Further details of the individual rides will be posted as available, here’s what’s available now:

Included in price:

  • Transportation from Manhattan to Washington DC and back
  • 2 nights hotel accommodation (double occupancy - you will share a room with another cyclist)

Not included in price:

  • Meals
  • Metro Rides (You will have the option if you want to do more riding to ride Saturday and Sunday morning a repeat of what we do Friday)

The cost for 3 days of riding and 2 nights Hilton Hotel accommodation is $349 (double occupancy)!

We will be staying in Rockville Maryland. We won’t have to deal with DC traffic this way, get a MUCH better deal on a nicer hotel, and can do quite a bit of riding, and because of proximity to the Metro - enjoy night riding in DC without having to deal with getting back by bike.

Friday we will leave by 8am (earlier if possible) and arrive around 1pm in Rockville, Maryland. Plenty of great meal options right near where we will start riding.

We will ride into DC and then around all the monuments and then pick one of a number of places to eat near the Metro. NO MEALS INCLUDED - so you can spend as much or as little on food - but we will make sure you have many options from which to choose. We will see the monuments at night and then ride the Metro back to our hotel.

Saturday, we will depart by Metro to the city and then ride out to Virginia, seeing Arlington National Cemetery and then the sites on our way to and back from Mt. Vernon - DC namesake George Washington’s home. We will arrive back to the city before sundown and have dinner in the city and see the sites again at night. This give us two options in case there is rain on one of the nights in DC.

Sunday - there is a local ride similar to the Five Borough Bike Tour in NYC - only about 20 miles in length and priced at $50. We will be getting a reduced rate for our riders, but this ride is NOT included in the price. Why? Because not everyone will feel like doing this ride - some may opt to tour the many free museums and sites that Washington has to offer, or do another longer ride (eg. Zoo anyone?) in the area that will be offered as an option. Details will be provided and worked out with those who sign up.

We will leave back for New York after dinner - so it’s three pretty full days of riding, sightseeing and fun dinners with 5BBC members who join.

For more information, please e-mail allan5bbc@gmail.com and include a phone number and best times to reach you if you would like a call back

We hope to see you on this ride
