Quogue is one of our favorite destination. This is a new variation, a scenic and beautiful 45ish mile variation with some new roads and views. This is a perfect spring ride, one not to miss, one to play hooky and join.  

The ride starts a little after 9:45 at the Speonk LIRR train station.  One can drive and park there for free or take a train from the City that arrives at 9:50.  The ride is an advanced moderate ride, and will be at the lower end of advanced moderate, as we alternate between a touring pace to see the sights and a somewhat quicker pace in a few places.  We should get back to Speonk in time for the 4:00 return train for those taking the LIRR.  

From our start in Speonk, we explore some real back roads in Remsenburg and then head out to WestHampton, make our way down to Dune Road and then to Quogue for some more exploring, out to East Quogue, and then a stop for lunch/snack.  On the way back we will make a quick stop at the Refuge, and see the huge turtles.  All in all 45 adventurous but fairly flat scenic miles.  Definitely worth the somewhat longer train ride.

Please bring hydration, snacks, lunch or money for lunch/snacks (we will be stopping at. Panera Bread as a food stop) and most importantly bring an upbeat inquisitive attitude ready to explore.
