After last weekend’s rainout, let’s try again for a ride North for some Greek food.  We ride through scenic Westchester County with its blooming trees to Tarrytown, where we will have excellent Greek food for lunch at Lefteris Gyro Diner. 

After leaving Van Cortlandt Park at West 242nd Street we head North through the old Hudson River towns of Yonkers, Hastings-on-Hudson, Dobbs Ferry and Irvington. We join the Old Croton Aqueduct in Hastings and continue North where we meet the Tarrytown Riderwalk, which runs behind Lyndhurst Mansion’s grounds.  We take the Riverwalk to its end and join Broadway, then head North until we slip into the side streets of Tarrytown. Once we hit Main Street in Tarrytown, we will stop for lunch at Lefteris Gyro.  After lunch, we head East on Neperan Avenue and the Tarrytown Lake Trail until we meet the South County Trail.  There we head South on the South County Trail back to the start at Van Cortlandt Park and West 242nd Street.

N.B.  Part of this ride is on the unpaved, dirt trail of the Old Croton Aqueduct. The section on which we will be riding, Dobbs Ferry to the Riverwalk, is easily passable with street bike tires. 

This is a Moderate ride, not a Happy Face ride – be prepared to keep a steady pace of 12-13 mph.

==> This is a Crazy Sock Ride.  Wear your most colorful and craziest socks.  There will be a Prize for the person with the craziest socks as voted by the group.

Helmets are required on all 5BBC rides. Bring a bike in good repair, a spare tube, water and money for lunch.
