Unfortunately, the LIRR has now scheduled construction for Saturday between Babylon and Patchogue, so we can't do a Montauk ride.  As an alternative we will be moving the ride from the Southfork to the beautiful Northfork.  Ride will start at 10:30 at the Mattituck LIRR train station around when the train arrives.  Ride details are being finalized but expect 50-55 scenic historic miles.  Instead of a stop at the Montauk brewery, at the end of the ride, we will stop for fantastic home made ice cream from Magic Fountain.  Train back to the City is at 5:25.  There is plenty of free parking for those driving at the Mattituck station.  

Let's head out east for a late season ride from Speonk to Montauk, a bit more than a Montauk MetricCentury.  The ride will meet at 9:45 at the Speonk  LIRR station parking lot.  The start time allows folks time to get out there by car and carpools or via the LIRR, which has a train arriving around that time. 

The ride is around 65, mostly scenic, miles, including some beautiful areas by Quogue, East Hampton and the fun rolling hills on Old Montauk Highway with some great views towards the ocean.  Ride is advanced moderate as we will keep a steady pace, but won't overly rush as we want to enjoy the tour out East.  We aim to hopefully get to Montauk in time for a stop at the Montauk Brewery before taking the 5:37 LIRR train from Montauk.  Riders may take the LIRR back to Speonk to pick up cars, or may ride all the way back to Jamaica, Penn, Atlantic Terminal, or stations in between.  Please be sure to bring a bungee cord to secure your bike on the train.

Normally, we would stop and pick up lunch, but under the current circumstances, please bring your lunch, snacks and sufficient hydration.  Most importantly bring an upbeat inquisitive attitude ready to explore.
