A nice little ride, some climbing, but not too much and not too steep, from Westbury LIRR to Centre Island and back. We'll wend our way through some nice wooded sections, by some fancy houses and a bit of beach and we'll wave at Billy Joel's house or at least his front gate. There will be some digressions where we will go off the well-wheeled route for a bit of a change, and a pizza stop for lunch in Bayville where one can eat inside or out. This is an advanced moderate ride so please be able to do 15 mph on the flats.

To get there: 7:39am train from Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn, change at Jamaica to the 7:37am train from Penn Station which arrives in Westbury at 8:20. If you're driving, there is street parking to the east of the train station, a paid parking garage at the station and additional parking a short ride away at Westbury Plaza. We'll meet in the parking lot on the south side of the tracks at the Station, or if there is still construction there, on Railroad Ave, which runs along the south side parking lot.  

Bring water, spare tube, method of inflation, and snacks. Sunscreen and some kind of electrolyte drink or tablets are good items to have as well. If you sign up and but can't make it please unregister so those on the waiting list, if there is one, can get on.

Weather being weather and summer beintg summer, please be advised that I'll cancel if it looks like it's going to be too hot or rainy. I'll make that call the day before the ride.
