Enjoy a ride in the New Jersey countryside. We will look for some shade as we bicycle through the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge. We start our ride from the Morristown Train Station. This is a train station opened in 1913. The interior was featured in the video by Cyndi Lauper's "Time and Time" video (at 3 minutes and 36 seconds). (Wikipedia)  A little after mile 6, we will ride through the Great Swamp Wildlfe Refuge. We will stop to visit the birds of prey at the Raptor's Trust, about mile 10. Then it's on to our stop at Ridge Bagel, about mile 22 in Basking Ridge NJ. We then travel back through the Great Swamp back to the Morristown train station. If you are not driving to the start, another option is to get there by train. There is a New Jersey transit train that leaves Penn Station at 8:38 am and arrives at Morristown train station at 9:42 am. In a little over an hour you will be out of the big city. Please do a bicycle check before you leave your house. Bring sunscreen, a helmet, sufficient amounts of liquids for the hot weather and spare tubes with bicycle tools to put them on.
