Check out the beautiful Hudson River highlands region from the hip and happening town of Beacon. Depart Grand Central Terminal with David Meltzer at 9:45am, arrive in Beacon at 11:22 to meet Adam Purucker. Adam and Mel will lead this group along beautiful riverside trails, thriving main streets, and cross the Hudson River at the Newburgh Beacon Bridge. Attractions in Beacon include Long Dock Park, Dennings Point, Fishkill Overlook Falls, the Snooki Shop, and breweries and distilleries to your hearts content. Beacon is also famous for its art scene that includes the famed Dia Beacon museum. Attractions in Newburgh include the riverside promenade, Washington's Headquarters and the Newburgh Brewing Company, a likely lunch stop. Be sure to bring a hybrid bike as some but not all of this route will be on dirt and gravel trails.
