Spring Training Series - Ride #4
Sunday, April 10, 2022 - 10:00

It's a wrap of the Advance Moderate Spring Training Series!

Ride #4 is a round-trip ride from Cunningham Park to Bayville and back. We will meet at the bathrooms by the bocce court in Cunningham Park, Union Turnpike & 196th Place, Queens. Meet at 10 AM for a 10:15 am departure. This final ride is 55 miles.

The final ride of the series is another North Shore adventure, this time to the village of Bayville. Often referred to as Pine Island, Bayville is located on the Long Island Sound facing Greenwich, CT. The pace of this ride will be the bottom of advance moderate as this is not a flat ride. We will climb some hills at over 1900 feet in elevation. But, you have worked up to this all spring in preparing to take the summer cycling season by storm.

The Advance Moderate Training Series:

This series of rides will get you back in shape by summer.  The rides start at reasonable distances and build up each week. The goal is to build up your distance and stamina each week.

If you consider yourself to be a pretty good rider who enjoys riding in the comfort of a small group you are a perfect fit to join in on these rides. On an advanced moderate we ride together as a group. As long as you can maintain 15 mph on flat roads you should be fine. Riding long distances as a group we generally ride together and turn together. The preference is not to employ point/drop/sweep. Occasional compression stops will be made to keep everyone together. Great dispositions and cooperative skills will make the day enjoyable for all.
