Jonesing for some really good smoked fish products (salmon, whitefish, etc) at a "bon marche" price?  Join our trip to Acme Fish, a family owned/operated wholesale smoked fish biz. Signups allowed for 8 riders to participate.

MEET:  NE corner of 60th & 1st Ave (at the small park south of Starbucks and across from Trader Joe's) for our crossing the 59th St bridge.

INFO:  Acme's "Fish Fridays" (the only time they allow retail biz) is for we, the public. It's a bit diff these pandemic days, but  - - - still, such a deal!  On bike it's a short and easy hop to Acme in Greenpoint Bklyn from our start on the Manhattan side of the 59th St bridge. No point-drop-sweep; we'll ride as a group (but do print/bring cue sheet). Ride limited to 8 riders. Expect to be back in Manhattan at the 59th Street Bridge by 11AM the very latest.

BYO carrying capacity for toting back your purchases, and of course, mask, helmet, bike in good shape, tires pumped up, tube, etc. Please also bring a printed copy or an actual screen shot of your ACME purchase receipt, to show them and make our pickup faster. [FYI, if you've not been before during covid times, they pack purchases into a brown, taped, outsized box which like Amazon Prime boxes have way too much air for the contents.  Most of us break them open and leave boxes behind for recycling, stashing pour urchases into our carry bags or sacks or panniers.]

NOTE:  Only online orders are accepted, for curbside pickup within a time slot selected when you order (pls pick 9:00AM). Those pickup times are first come-first served, so get your order figured out in advance, then finalize it ASAP after the "noon Tuesday" window opens. Not to worry if all the "9AMs" are taken, just put in the nearest available time and it will work fine.

TIP:  Company in the past has said that fresh sliced fish is only sold by the full pound.

WARNING:  Friends and family might pile on to your shopping list once they hear where you're going! So be prepared to bring back more than just for yourselves.

After Acme, we'll head a little deeper into W'burg to a wonderful pasty and breakfast/brunch place, Bakeri on Wythe/N. 8th Street, long favored by former club leader Judity Steyer who debuted these Acme trips. They have outdoor seating and "to go" available. After a brief stop it's back to the isle of Manhattan over the (still new!) Brooklyn Bridge bike lane.

IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS: A reminder that you must register for the ride.  Please 'unregister' if you can not make the ride so any waited list folks can move up and take the slot.  All riders should be familiar with the current criteria for riding with the Club.

BRING: The usual bike flat fix tools plus whatever else specific to your bike is wise; dress in layers for the weather. Ride is short so a bit of inclement weather won't deter us (but it looks reasonably clear for this Friday!).  In any event it's New Yawk, with lots of subway bails. BYO lock for bikes, as one of Bakeri's outdoor places are in the garden in back, and given how cozy (translation:  not a lot of open floor spae) the place is, I'm not even going to ask if we can bring bike thru the main room and to the back. Bike of any kind is fine.  Given how much salt still remains on the road, Leader is NOT taking her good road bike, but will use her around town mtn bike which has treaded, not knobby/fat) tires (approx 35s)

COVID:  Read and abide by the club and NYC/NYS current regulations,. We will mask up if within the 6' social distancing, or if indoors even briefly.
