Could the American Revolution have ended with a negotiated settlement?
Sunday, December 19, 2021 - 09:15

Our destination is the Conference House, a National HIstoric Landmark in the southern-most tip of NY State.  The Conference House was the site of the Staten Island Peace Conference, an unsuccessful attempt to reach a negotiated settlement to the Revolutionary War on September 11, 1776. You will get credit towards your 5 boro perimeter patch.

This will be a 40-mile ride at an Upper Moderate pace, which means 13+ mph on flat terrain.  We will meet at the South Ferry Terminal to take the 9:30 ferry to Staten Island.

Lunch will be at Towne Deli (https://www.townedelipizzasi.com/) at mile 18.5.  Be sure to bring your proof of vaccination if you plan to eat inside.

IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS: Please 'unregister' if you can not make the ride so waited list folks can move up and take the slot. All riders should come equipped with hand sanitizer/wipes, a spare tube and tire levers, sunscreen, snacks, full water bottles, front and back LIGHTS for going through a tunnel and in case we get home late, and a bike in good condition. Additionally be familiar with the current criteria for riding with the Club.
