Brooklyn Waterfront Parks and Piers
Primary tabs

This is a nice and easy romp along the Brooklyn Waterfront, visiting as many parks and piers as we can. Among those that we encounter are: Erie Basin Park, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Bushwick Inlet Park, Transmitter Park, Box Park, and the always entertaining Nature Walk - including the new Phase II and III. As the late Bob Castro said, "Only in New York can we call this nature." We will also venture down several piers including those in Erie Basin Park, Valentino Pier and Transmitter Pier. This ride has some beautiful water views and the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan views are pretty spectacular. In the past, we used to stop for lunch at the Polish Slavic Cafeteria, but alas, it is no longer open. So, we will not have any formal lunch stop, unless we pass something that calls out to the group. What that means is bring snacks if you tend to get hangry.
This ride is listed as a "happy face ride." But, you have to be able to ride at least 10 MPH, and be comfortable in traffic. Much of the ride is on trails, some of the ride is on streets. Please bring the standard things that you bring on a ride including snacks, tubes, lock, etc. In case of lousy weather - check the web site for either later start or cancellation.
