Post-Turkey Day Ride to Jamaica Estates
Primary tabs

This was a a ride I traditionally listed the day after Thanksgiving. Since I am going to be in the City, it is time to reprise the ride. Get a little blood flowing post turkey day, ditch the Black Friday sales, give thanks for the 5BBC and join us for a fun urban tour from Brooklyn through Central Queens to the somewhat isolated enclave of Jamaica Estates. See diverse, ever-changing and unique neighborhoods along the way. This is a 30-35 mile ride at a moderate pace with some urban hills in places. Dress in layers as the weather for this ride has really run the gamut over the years.
Normally, we would stop for lunch, but under the current circumstances, please bring your lunch, snacks and sufficient hydration, as it is very unlikely that we will stop to pick up food. How we stop will be very weather dependent. Eat a good breakfast and have snacks as a lunch stop may be very quick if it is cold. Most importantly bring an upbeat inquisitive attitude ready to explore new and unknown areas and reprise this once classic tradition.
IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS: A reminder that you must register for the ride and that the exact start location will be forwarded to the registered riders. Please 'unregister' if you can not make the ride so waited list folks can move up and take the slot. All riders should come equipped with a mask, hand sanitizer/wipes, a spare tube, sunscreen, snacks and a bike in good condition, as well as being familiar with the current criteria for riding with the Club.
