Note new start time now 10:15 Cunningham Park Start
Monday, September 6, 2021 - 10:15

Since we introduced and led this ride a few years ago it has been a fun-filled success and we continue to receive requests to schedule it again.  This is the variation that starts in Cunningham Park, but will incorporate a fairly new variation with a bike path by a lake.  What more could you ask, other than for the weather to cooperate.

So, come join us for a fun, fairly flat 45-50 mile ride that combines two of our non-north shore favorite Nassau County locations, Garden City and Hewlett Harbor.  This may be a ride of a thousand turns, but you will enjoy most of them, as once we arrive at our various destinations, we meander about getting a flavor for the areas.

Ride is listed as moderate, but note speed will be at the high end of moderate.  Please be able to maintain and sustain at least 13mph on the flats when necessary.

Normally, we would stop and pick up lunch, but under the current circumstances, please bring your lunch, snacks and sufficient hydration, as it is very unlikely that we will stop to pick up food.  VERY IMPORTANT THE Lunch stop may be quite late in the ride, so be sure to have snacks to hold you over.  Most importantly bring an upbeat inquisitive attitude ready to explore new and unknown areas.

IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS: A reminder that you must register for the ride.  Please 'unregister' if you can not make the ride so waited list folks can move up and take the slot.  All riders should come equipped with a mask, hand sanitizer/wipes, a spare tube, sunscreen, hydration, lots of snacks and a bike in good condition, as well as being familiar with the current criteria for riding with the Club.
