This is another ride in beautiful countryside even if you're not on a bike. But being on a bike will give you more time to enjoy it.  I took this ride this past month, June, and found some of the best areas to ride I've seen. Let's see if you agree. 

This route will be 40.7 miles. . And the stop will be in Flemington, about mile 23, where there are two places to eat across the street from each other, Main St. Bagels and J.S. Shaker Cafe.  Flemington is on the National Register of Historic Places and is on the county seat of Hunterdon. In the courthouse of this town, in 1935,  Bruno Hauptmann was tried and convicted for the kidnapping and murder of Charles Lindbergh's baby boy. 

Going at a Quick Spin Lite pace, this will not be a long day.  Please have your bikes prepared for the ride.  Bring hydration, snacks for the road, money for a meal stop, a spare tube, repair tools, and a good attitude.  There is a New Jersey transit train that leaves Penn Station at 8:07 am and arrives at Raritan at 9:42 am
