Decadent Rye. Decadent Beer

Get out of the City
Get out of the City
Sunday, July 18, 2021 - 10:00

This ride is doubly decadent.  We see the decadent houses in Rye, followed by a visit to Decadent Brewery in Mamaroneck.  To get there, we ride across Randall's  Island and through The Bronx to the Hutchinson River Trail and the Shore Road Trail.  Then its up through Pelham, New Rochelle, Larchmont and Mamaroneck. Lunch will be al fresco at the John Jay House in Rye. These are the lunch options: picnic lunch (bring your own) or purchase lunch at the wonderful Sage Deli to be eaten on the nearby John Jay house porch which has seating and overlooks a preserve. At least one of your leaders will have lunch at the end of the ride at Decadent Ales Brewery - here is a link to their menu which has some good food options: https://decadentales.square.site/uploads/b/96e5ed00-9831-11ea-9c16-73d7f305ca58/8b927cd0-aebc-11eb-b642-05ba7858f4a9.pdf

If you choose to wait until the end of the ride for lunch be sure to bring sufficient pocket food to hold you over. After the stop at the John Jay House we will go through some of the wealthier parts of Rye around Manursing Way and scenic Kirby Pond and then ride through Harrison. The end point of the ride is Decadent Brewery in Mamaroneck for well deserved beer and food. The Mamaroneck Train Station is just a minute away from the brewery with hourly trains stopping 25 minutes past the hour

What you have to take with you:  Water, water [said it twice as its really important], railroad pass [they sometimes check], spare tube that fits your tire, snacks, mask, a means of conveyance to carry your food if you decide to pick it up, MTA bike permit for the train and the normal things that make you happy on a ride.

THIS RIDE IS LIMITED TO 12 TRIPPERS.  YOU MUST BE REGISTERED, AND IF YOU CANNOT MAKE THE RIDE YOU MUST UNREGISTER ASAP TO GIVE OTHER CLUB MEMBERS A CHANCE TO SIGN UP.  As with all brewery rides the ride ends at the brewery stop.
