Indian Village - The Bronx
Primary tabs

Tucked away behind Jacobi Hospital is a relatively unknown small neighborhood in the Bronx, Indian Village. The area gets its name from the surrounding streets which have names like "Choctaw", "Pawnee", "Seminole" and "Narraganset." The ride starts in the North of Manhattan and then crosses into the Bronx. We ride through streets that most of us have not ridden before. After crossing through Jacobi Hospital itself, we then start heading back. On Mace Avenue we will likely stop at Lourdes of the Bronx. Our very own sacred religious shrine - In the Bronx ! Then we head through Allerton, down University and cross the scenic High Bridge back into Manhattan.
The starting place will be forwarded by email on Thursday.
We will be doing this as a Happy Face paced ride. BUT - that does not mean dawdling. You must be able to maintain a pace of 10 MPH on the flats. The ride is mostly flat, but being in the Bronx, you know there will be a hill or two. You must also be comfortable riding in traffic as much of the ride is not on trails, but on public streets.
We do not yet know our plans for lunch, which may end up being a picnic at the Allerton Ball Fields. BUT, if that changes, we will let you know. Please bring the normal things you take on a ride - including spare tube, snacks and hydration. And, if you sign up and cannot attend, please delist to give someone else a chance to ride.
IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS: A reminder that you must register for the ride and that the exact start location will be forwarded to the registered riders. Please 'unregister' if you can not make the ride so waited list folks can move up and take the slot. All riders should come equipped with a mask, hand sanitizer/wipes, a spare tube, sunscreen, snacks and a bike in good condition, as well as being familiar with the current criteria for riding with the Club.
