Mastic, Manorville, Moriches Plus Nettie's
Primary tabs

We change the clocks on Saturday into Sunday and to welcome the sadder time of year with less daylight, we ride in the M's and reward ourselves with a stop at Nettie's. Come join us for a 42 mile ride with about 750 feet of elevation gain and no grade above 2.7% (how are we going to burn off the calories from Nettie's, yikes).
The ride is accessible by both automobile and LIRR. We are starting late (11:00 AM) to best work to the train schedule and get some warmth into the day. But, understand the daylight will disappear early. So bring front and rear lights, but most importantly in order to be sure we finish on time, recognize the ride is an advanced moderate ride with no real bailouts, so please be able to ride 14mph or better on the flats. Pace on the flats will usually (other than some touring) be faster as an advanced moderate
A caveat: certain parts of the ride are brand new or only ridden once, so the ride is definitely part true scout. Be prepared for a whoops or two.
Normally, we would stop and pick up lunch, but under the current circumstances, please bring your lunch, snacks and sufficient hydration, as it is very unlikely that we will stop to pick up food. Also, as the ride starts late, please be sure to eat a good breakfast and have snacks as a lunch stop will also likely be late. Most importantly bring an upbeat inquisitive attitude ready to explore new and unknown areas.
IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS: A reminder that you must register for the ride and that the exact start location will be forwarded to the registered riders. Please 'unregister' if you can not make the ride so waited list folks can move up and take the slot. All riders should come equipped with a mask, hand sanitizer/wipes, a spare tube, sunscreen, snacks and a bike in good condition, as well as being familiar with the current criteria for riding with the Club.
