Bergen Point

This is a flat route on the South Shore starting from Huntington and riding to Bergen Point.  Although it is extremely  flat, there will be some long stretches with minimal stops and lights.  Please be able to maintain at least 14 mph for long stretches.  We will try to ride together as a group and keep the drops to a minimum. 

On the way to our destination, we’ll explore the ruins of the abandoned Pilgrim Psychiatric Center,  which at the time it opened, was the largest hospital of any kind in the world. (More than 2000 lobotomies there). It’s pretty eerie looking now…. so we

won’t be dawdling there..

Weather permitting,  rest stop on the dock.  Bring your own,  or option to buy at a small, basic deli on the dock.

Start is reachable by car or by public transportation. 
 

IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS: A reminder that you must register for the ride and that the exact start location will be forwarded to the registered riders.  Please 'unregister' if you can not make the ride so waited list folks can move up and take the slot.  All riders should come equipped with a mask, hand sanitizer/wipes, a spare tube, sunscreen, snacks and a bike in good condition, as well as being familiar with the current criteria for riding with the Club.
