Queens to Lower Manhattan Bike Tourism

Come join us for a Downtown NYC Tourism ride!  We ride through Flushing Meadow Park and nosh at the Empanadas Café.  Yum, the best empanada in Corona!  Crossing the Kosciusko and Williamsburg Bridges, we wind up on the Lower East Side.  We head to the South Street Seaport and pass the former Fulton Fish Market site.  Next highlight cluster is Delmonico’s, Fraunces Tavern, and our Stone Street lunch with many eateries and outdoor seating.  Detour to Bowling Green Park (NYC’s 1st park)/Charging Bull before hitting Battery Park and the Hudson Greenway.

Riding North on the Hudson Grnwy, we stop at the Irish Hunger Park Memorial near the Brookfield Mall and the Conrad Hotel.  We go north on the HGrnwy towards Stuyvesant High School where we pay respects to 8 bicyclists killed by a terrorist driver.  Gotta’ see City Hall, Brooklyn Bridge, Pace University, and Beekman Hospital as we head east.  Then we visit the WTC Memorial, Eataly, and The Occulus.

Too much tourism?  All tourist talk will be abbreviated and truncated.  The last highlight cluster is $Wall Street:  Trinity Church, NYSE, Federal Hall, The FED, and Zucotti Park are on the way to the Wall Street Ferry.  We will boat back to Pepsi Cola LIC and then bike to the Queens College finish.  This ride will be limited to 8 riders.  Eight bicycle ferry limit, $3.75 for person with bike!

This is a 30 mile bike tourism ride @ 10mph with many stops.  Literally expect a day trip.  Having worked in Lower Manhattan for 13 years, including 3 years in #1 Tower/WTC, allow me to share my insights and nostalgia on an unforgettable bike tourism ride.
