The Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge
Primary tabs

In 2017 the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge replaced the 1955-vintage Tappan Zee Bridge linking Westchester and Rockland Counties. In June 2020 the Cuomo Bridge added a shared use path for cyclists and pedestrians.
Our mission is to bicycle across the Hudson River on this bridge path and return safely to NYC.
We meet in the vicinity of Van Cortlandt Park (exact location provided to registered riders). The route includes the Putnam Trail, South County Trailway, Tarrytown Lakes Greenway, Cuomo Bridge path, Esposito Trail, Clarke Trail, Piermont Rd, and ChurcHILL Rd. Ride ends at the Manhattan end of the GWB.
Pick up lunch in Tarrytown or bring your own. We will eat at a riverbank park with views of the bridge.
The ride includes 4 miles on an unpaved path. Road bikes are usually OK but some riders will be more comfortable with tire width of 28 mm or larger.
Helmets are required on all 5BBC rides. Bring a spare tube. We're still in a pandemic so wear a face covering and keep social distance.
Ride could be canceled for bad weather; check your email before heading out.
Rides during the current pandemic are limited to 12 riders + 2 leaders. Everyone else gets wait-listed. If you're on the wait list, you will get an email when a slot opens. (Please note that the club website does not update your wait list status.) Important: you must remove yourself from the list (or email the ride leader jzisfein@gmail.com) if you will not be riding. Failure to follow this instruction could get you restricted from signing up in the future.
