Hill Lovers ride to Planting Fields
Primary tabs

This short but wonderfully hilly ride offers a chance to get the blood moving while allowing plenty of time to explore Planting Fields Arboretum.
Planting Fields was a magnificent Gold Coast estate from the 1920s, which was given to the state of New York and survives today as a beautiful landscape which includes an extensive collection of gardens and a mansion.
We will lock our bikes by the entrance gate and spend about 3 hours at Planting Fields, including a tour of the Coe Mansion with an exhibition of painted screens by Robert Chanler
You can buy lunch at the Magnolia Café or bring a lunch – picnicking allowed! There will be no stops along the route to purchase food.
Face masks are required at Planting Fields.
Start location, at an LIRR station, will be emailed to regisered riders
IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS: A reminder that you must register for the ride and that the exact start location will be forwarded to the registered riders up to a maximum of 10 riders including the leaders. Please 'unregister' if you can not make the ride so waitlisted folks can move up and take the slot. All riders should come equipped with:
a mask,
hand sanitizer/wipes,
a lock,
spare tube,
$10 tour fee,
lunch or $ to buy it
and a bike in good condition, as well as being familiar with the current criteria for riding with the Club. And a love for beautiful gardens!
