A Connecticut Yankee

Ride to Cos Cob
Ride to Cos Cob
Saturday, September 26, 2020 - 10:00

This ride takes us out of the City to Cos Cob, Connecticut.  We will start out in Manhattan and head north through The Bronx.  We then hang along the waterfront cycling through New Rochelle, Larchmont, Mamaroneck, and Rye, before crossing the unguarded boarder into Connecticut.  No passports will be needed to cross.  Some of the ride is urban, but much of the ride is on either trails or quiet suburban streets.  There will be some hills, but nothing you can't handle.

Lunch will be a picnic on the John Jay Estate in Mamaroneck.  You can either pack a lunch to bring, or we will stop at a deli a few miles away. Lunch is about 25 miles into the ride, so if you are prone to get hangry, briing a snack.  We will be heading back via Metro North - so please bring your RR pass with you because you never know when, or if, a conductor will ask for it.

After you register for the ride, you will receive an email in a few days letting you know the exact start location of the ride.  If you cannot attend this ride, please drop me an email so we can pull someone off of any waiting list that may exist.  This is a courtesy to your fellow members and is appreciated.  Remember to follow all Covid Precautions such as taking a mask and sanitizer - and all non covid precautions such as a helmet, tube, and gear.  And as always, a spirit of adventure.
