WEATHER UPDATE:  The forecast for today by Mastic is now for a significant thunderstorm around noon with a quarter inch of rain. Ugh, that’s not something to dodge. So I’m going to cancel today and aim for next week. I’ll keep you posted.

We are scouting the backroads of Mastic and the Moriches.  This is a true scout (meaning we do not know many of the roads or location of restrooms) and a true meander as we are investigating interesting areas, as well as some back roads and dead ends.  Lot's of turns on this relatively flat ride that is always near water.  Let's see if parts of this ride are ready for prime time.

Normally, we would stop and pick up lunch, but under the current circumstances, please bring your lunch, snacks and sufficient hydration, as it is very unlikely that we will stop to pick up food.  Most importantly bring an upbeat inquisitive attitude ready to explore and discover - and perhaps a swim suit as there is a chance (not definite) for a quick dip.

IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS: A reminder that you must register for the ride and that the exact start location will be forwarded to those on the ride. Please 'unregister' if you can not make the ride so waited list folks can move up and take the slot.  All riders should come equipped with a mask, hand sanitizer/wipes, a spare tube, sunscreen, snacks and a bike in good condition, as well as being familiar with the current criteria for riding with the Club.
