Brooklyn Holiday Lights

Casual urban street ride to enjoy the holiday lights and cheer of NYC's most populous, and 2nd largest, borough. And let's bedeck ourselves and bikes with lights and holiday trimmings, as well (safe for cycling, of course).

We'll follow a turbo route through a variety of scenic neighborhoods. Of course we'll visit the borough's largest tree, plus the locale with the most longevity.of an annual XMAS tree, and a number of other neat vistas. Approx mileage 15. Lots of bails. Cue sheet will be provided by leaders at start. Ends near the start at Bklyn Bridge, or maybe an optional Manhattan Bridge.

All types of bikes welcomed, just be aware we will be on a wide range and quality of street paving, and in varied levels of traffic, so choose your steed and tire width well.

Any changes or cancellation will be posted by Noon of ride day. But weather is supposed to be good for that part of the week, and seasonal temps won't deter us, so dress for success in layers and such.

MEET:  Ready to move out, at Brooklyn Bridge Park, Pier 1 (which has the commuter ferry landing), next to the old firehouse (now an ice cream shop). As another benchmark, what's just south of the Brooklyn Bridge.

BRING:  Bike in great condition, tire changing/repair gear, hydration, $ for bevs/repast & ferry or subway if desired, layered warm clothing.

X-listed NYCC.
