A Golden ride through the woods and a country-style lunch

Sunday, November 10, 2019 - 07:45

I hope you saved that DST hour from last weekend so you can catch the 8:14 train. Let's take a last look for the year at the trees in all their glory. We meet at Penn Station and take the train to Trenton. There, we take the D&R trail to Lambertville for one of the best country-style lunches at Sneddon's, then cross the bridge into New Hope for dessert. We'll pass Washington Crossing where one of the most significant events in our Countries history occurred that allowed humanity to continue on our trek to become what humans will be. I'm sure that you saw that famous picture of "Washington Crossing the Delaware" in the dead of Winter. Well, the back story is that if we didn't win the subsequent battle at Trenton, the troops were scheduled to go home. With no army to fight the revolution, there would be no United States. a special thanks to Jesse Brown for pioneering these rides south.
