This is a off-season NJ shore ride, with a sumptious brunch at the beginning, and a delightful dinner at the end, with a little bikin 'n' hikin in the middle. The ride begins in Little Silver with a tour of inlets and beaches, that culminates with a brunch stop at My Kitchen Witch Cafe in Monmouth Beach (the French toast and pancakes are fantastic!) and another (quick) stop at Booskerdoo Roastery for their signature Black and Tan coffee. We then cycle along the jettys and shoreline of Route 36 until we get to the Highlands and Hartshone Woods Park, a 794-acre site that majestically overlooks the Navesink River, where we'll bike a little and then hike a little, and eventually work our way along the coast and over to Red Bank, where some of us will dine at Bon Jovi's Soul Kitchen, while others, will take the 4:14 back to the city. (Those staying for dinner will catch the 6:14.)

In all, 23 miles -- at a leisurely pace. Here is the route.

Meet up Amtrak Waiting Area, near the escalators at 31 and 8th Avenue, at 9:45 AM.  Vending machines and ticket window are nearby, as well as escalators to the train. We'll board the 10:07 AM to Little Silver.
