While part of this ride has been done before, this is a true scout for much of the ride.  We are heading to Manor Park in Larchmont, which is just a beautiful place to visit on the Long Island Sound.  We ride from Central Park up through the Bronx - taking the Pelham Parway Trail and then the Shore Road Trail into New Rochelle.  From there, we will ride into Larchmont and to Manor Park.  On the way back, we take the trail most of the way back, and then hit the Mosholu Parkway and finish up the ride in Van Cortland Park, conveniently located near the end of the #1 Train.  Lunch will be figured out on the road.  Posibly a nearby deli and picnic lunch - but there are lots of options nearby.

Will there be wrong turns - maybe.  But we will figure it out and have a great time.  Bring spare tubes, snacks as we don't know where and when lunch will be, and LIGHTS - just in case.  The bail out point - if needed is Metro North so bring your rail pass.
