Due to track work; we'll reschedule
Saturday, September 28, 2019 - 08:00

Unfortunately one of our tripper reported, and we confirmed, that there is, alas, track work being done on the Manasquan line. There is only bus service, which doesn't help us and our bikes, so we are canceling for now. Depending on the weather we are rescheduling this ride for October 26 -- or, possibly, early November.

Our second season for this. And moved to a, hopefully, cooler date so we can enjoy the terrain, rather than suffer through it.

The ride begins in Trenton, NJ, and travels, via the Delaware tow path to historic Bordentown (home of Tom Paine). From there, we move into the interior -- back roads and old-style country diners and flea markets -- with lunch at Tootie's, a New Egypt institution (along with their spectacular one-of-a-kind ice cream sundaes), before heading out into the uncharted northern fringes of the Pine Barrens, the remote Manasquan Reservoir, Allaire State Park, and, finally, the Edgar Felix Memorial Bikeway . . . all the way to the Atlantic coast.

We meet at Penn Station-Amtrak Waiting Area (31 & 8th Avenue, near the escalators) for the 8:14 AM train to Trenton. Return is via Manasquan. Those meeting us in Trenton, we'll be arriving at 9:45AM, and will gather near the bathrooms just inside the main entrance.

Note: Come self-contained (spares, tools, pump), as there are no bail outs or bike shops (though you may be able to hail an Uber).

And, finally, send this map and turn sheet to your email so you can easily access our route.
