Mighty Mattituck - Summer Midweek Version
Primary tabs
The summer is flying by; it’s already the 31st of July. So, play hooky and celebrate summer on the east end.
This is a new ride part of the expanding east end ride series. We will continue to offer a series of rides on the east end of Long Island, exploring the beauty of the North and South Forks, and of course Shelter Island. Some of these rides have been offered previously. Some like this one are brand new.
For this ride, a midweek version, we will explore parts of the Northfork on a 50ish mile scenic journey, as we tour mostly the western parts of the area. We meet at 10:30 at the LIRR train station in Mattituck. Unfortunately, during the week, there really aren’t good LIRR train options (there is a 6:00 AM train, ugh). Basically, the options are driving, car pooling, or the Hampton Jitney bus. If taking the Jitney, you want the Northfork option and should call them to reserve a space for your bike, as they do take bikes in luggage area. Also, if you are driving out, please, please contact us if you have room and can take additional folks and their bikes. Bring hydration, snacks as the lunch stop is late, lunch or money for lunch and of course an upbeat inquisitive attitude.
IMPORTANT REQUIREMENT: Please email if attending and share your cell number in case of last minute update the morning of the ride. Before that just check this listing for any updates.
