Othmar Ammann's 1931-vintage masterpiece connecting Bayonne and Staten Island was recently rebuilt with a raised road bed to accommodate taller ships. The bike/ped path, closed for 6 years, has reopened and is much improved. Our ride to the Bayonne Bridge goes over the GWB and down the west side of the Hudson on waterfront paths through Edgewater, Weekhawken, Hoboken, Jersey City, Liberty State Park, and Bayonne. Following lunch we experience this iconic bridge at a higher level. Ride ends at the SI Ferry terminal.
