Perimeter Ride of Manhattan
Primary tabs

This will be another ride appropriate for Happy Face and Moderate Riders. A motivated point will ride as fast as he can slowed mainly by occasional city street lights. A capable sweep will bring up the rear patiently encoruaging slower riders to finish the circuit!
1000 Feet of Elevation (up and down) - believe it or not, that's what you get in the 30-35 miles covering the perimeter of Manhattan (we will take bike routes where possible).
THIS IS ALSO OUR FIRST PERIMETER SERIES RIDE COUNTING TOWARDS A PATCH!
There are so many places lunch could be - but as I have learned from experience - we will see where we are around noon and stop at an appropriate place for lunch. Personally, I hope we make it back to the 72nd Street pier and the weather lets us enjoy an outdoor lunch on the water (as of Thursday noon weather is forecast to be pristine). But there are a few options at 125th to buy a picnic lunch from Fairway and eat outside and in Inwood several great places too.
Bring snacks to tide you over and a lock in case we go inside somewhere though I am leaning if we have good weather towards places we can buy food and eat outside. Lots of bathroom stops along the way but please be ready to go by 10am (there are bathrooms at Columbus Circle) and I know of specific stops on UES (park south of the mayor's house) and Inwood (Tread bike shop) about 1/3 and 2/3 of the way through the ride. There will be no cue sheets our plan will be to ride over to the west side greenway and then head south and come back up the east side and hug the water until 1st Avenue makes more sense and I improvise from there.... as always, you can "self drop" to create a photo opp and a bathroom stop by asking a friend to drop. If you need more details on that - ask me during my intro :)
