We tried to go to Eddie's Sweet Shop - but alas, they are closed on Mondays.  BUT, the good news is that there are many other ice cream parlors around that we can ride to this Memorial Day.  After much research, we are heading to MAX & MINA's in Flushing.  Max and Mina's is the extreme opposite of Eddies.  Sure, they have some traditional flavors you would recognize.  But, they also have flavors such as Caramel Pickle, Beer, Spongebob, Captain Crunch and Lox.  That is not a misprint - lox ice cream.  They have a rotating menu of over 5,000 flavors and have been featured on the Food Network.  So, come and have an old favorite flavor - or strike out into the wacky and wild of the ice cream world.  I know I am not getting a vanilla at Max and Mina's.  

The ride leaves from Grand Army Plaza and heads into Queens via Cooper Ave.  We will be riding a slower Moderate Pace.  On the way back, we have some fun with hills in Forest Park.  We do not intend to stop for a lunch break - unless there is a group demand - so if you are someone who gets HANGRY, make sure to bring a snack.  As always, take the usual necessities - lock, spare tube, sun screen and plenty of water.
