Screw the Rain - Let's RIDE
Screw the Rain - Let's RIDE
Sunday, April 14, 2019 - 10:00

The latest weather looks like we will catch a break.  But even if there is a short shower - WE ARE GONNA RIDE !   We will modify ride if necessary, but it looks like a GO.

Calvary Cemetery in Queens is the final resting place of Wee Willie Keeler, Dom DeLuise, and Mayor Wagner.  It has also hosted the funerals for numerous Cosa Nostra members - including the one and only Don Vito Corleone.  It features the moving Civil War Monument and amazing Tiffany stained glass mausuleums.  But this ride has so much more.  We  head to the "Land of the 60's" to visit Metropolitan Oval, a historic soccer field with an amazing view.  We visit Stockholm Street, a/k/a "The Yellow Brick Road."   We cross the Borden Street and Carroll Street retractile bridges [the country only has four bridges of this type].  Lunch is at the always fun Bohemia Gardens.  In short, this is a nice urban ride, with lots to see.

Bring: plenty of water, snacks, spare tubes, and a sense of adventure.  Please register on line for the ride.
