Northfork Escape
Primary tabs

Leave the City behind and join us for a fun and scenic ride on the NorthFork of Long Island. We meet at 10:45 at the LIRR train station in Southold, which is easily accessed by car. There are also LIRR trains requiring connections/transfers leaving both Penn Station and Atlantic Terminal that morning a little after 8:00 that will get you to the start. We will head on a journey that includes beautiful riding, a lighthouse, amazing vistas, a quaint lunch stop area, some incredible homes and did I mention water views. This approximately 40/45 mile ride is mostly relatively flat with one extended hilly section, which may be the highlight of the ride.
For those taking the train, there are limited return options from Southold, the most likely option is the 5:21 train back to the City
IMPORTANT RIDE REQUIREMENTS: you must register for the ride AND contact me directly in order to participate. This is necessary to coordinate logistics and have a sense of how many are on the train. Feel free to contact me with questions. If you have a car and can take someone (or more than one person) and their bike, PLEASE, PLEASE CONTACT ME, as we have folks who would like to get a ride.
This is an advanced moderate ride and although we will be running the ride as more of a tour, enjoying the scenery and views, riders should be able to maintain a 14-15 mph pace on the flats.
Please bring the usual for your bike as well as snacks and lunch or money for a lunch stop. Please also bring plenty of water, and an upbeat inquisitive attitude.
