Lyndhurst Hudson River Mansion
Primary tabs

What a gorgeous w/end day to head on an easy cruising trip out of town, and north to historic Gothic revival Lyndhurst Castle overlooking the Hudson River in Irvington NY. And best of all, this w/end is their annual flower show inside the castle, plus a special antiques show inside the Carriage House (separate admission tix pricing for each).
Cruising pace estimated at C-14 (MPH) - - kinda midway between moderate and advanced moderate in 5BBC parlance. And we'll travel over a combo of bike trails, some streets, and suburban routes. Ride as a group, keeping together, collecting atop the few hills. Possibly point-drop-sweep at key points.
Cue sheet provided by leader that morning. Cue and GPS route can be emailed to registered riders in advance IF you email leader directly with your email.
Multiple bails along the way for taking train back, and multiple train returns to NYC available. ETA in Irvington by noon, so you still have the afternoon to play locally in town or at the mansion, and/or hop back to NYC for a full afternoon and evening.
MEET: 7:45 AM Central Park boathouse outside the rest room. Be timely as we start bike check soon after that, plus at 8 AM it's wheels up. Snacks available at boathouse cafe.
END: Ride ends optionally at town of Irvington and their rail station, or at Lyndhurst Mansion.
BRING: Spirit of adventure, plus the usuals of hydration, on board snacks, pump and flat fix tools, money for lunch/transit back, Metro North rail pass, etc. Dress in layers as temps will vary as the day starts chill then warms up. Bring legal bike lights . . ya never know. High viz clothing colors also always great idea. If you plan on walking around the exhibits, BYO flat soled shoes as bike cleats probably won't be welcomed. Bring a solid lock.
