Ride to World Day of Remembrance Demonstration
Primary tabs

Sunday November 19 is World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. Since the NYC Street Memorial (Ghost Bike) rides were discontinued, World Day of Remembrance has become an important day for cycling advocates to speak out against traffic violence and press for safer streets. The event was first observed in 1993 and has spread internationally since it was adopted by the United Nations in 2005. More information on the international event is found here. Transportation Alternatives is organizing a mass event at noon at City Hall and this is the Manhattan Feeder ride to the event.
This is a ten-mile advocacy ride at a Happy Face pace open to all riders to meet up with Transportation Alternative Manhattan Committee members at Pier 40 at 11:00 a.m. At Pier 40, we will remember the victims of the Greenway terrorist attack, and then proceed to the mass event at City Hall that starts at noon.
