NOTE NEW DATE (NOW ON SATURDAY) AND START TIME (10:00 AM)
Saturday, October 28, 2017 - 10:00

NEW DAY AND TIME UPDATE:  The forecast for Sunday continues to be poor, both in terms of potential rain, but as importantly significant winds.  This ride is too nice for that, so we are switching the ride to Saturday and the start time to 10:00.

Leave the City behind and join us for a fun and scenic ride on the North Fork of Long Island.  We meet at 10:00 at the end of the Greenport LIRR train station, near the North Ferry and from there head on a journey that includes beautiful riding, a lighthouse, amazing vistas, a quaint lunch stop area, some incredible homes and did I mention water views. This approximately 55 mile ride is mostly relatively flat with only one extended hilly section, which may be the highlight of the ride.

Unfortunately, at this time of year, you will either need to car pool to the start location or if taking public transportation, come out the day before and stay in Greenport.

IMPORTANT RIDE REQUIREMENTS:  you must register for the ride AND contact me directly in order to participate. This is necessary to coordinate logistics.  Feel free to contact me with questions.  If you have a car and can take someone (or more than one person) and their bike, PLEASE, PLEASE CONTACT ME, as we have folks who would like to get a ride.

This is an advanced moderate ride and although we will be running the ride as more of a tour, enjoying the scenery and views, riders should be able to maintain a 14-15 mph pace on the flats.

Please bring the usual for your bike as well as snacks and lunch or money for a lunch stop. Please also bring plenty of water, and an upbeat inquisitive attitude.
