Circle the Gunks
Primary tabs

Someone forgot to pay the weather bill for Sunday. With rain (and thunderstorms) in the forecast we will be cancelling this trip. :(
We'll met at Grand Central and depart on the 7:43am train to Poughkeepsie. The ride officially begins and ends at the Poughkeepsie train station. It is an advanced moderate ride, & there are hills (a little over 3000ft total elevation gain) and only a few planned stops. We'll circle the Gunks, an area well known for it's hiking and climbing trails also feature some beautiful biking roads.
Start the day with a train ride out of NYC, an easy ride over the Walkway over the Hudson and when your muscles are nice and warmed up, we'll begin the hills that go up over to the far side of the Mohonk preserve. On the trip down there are breathtaking views of the Gunks, and you'll end with picturesque views of where you just were. Followed by an easy ride back to the train station via trailways. While there are a few food options there is not an official lunch stop decided upon. It is open for the group to decide if we want a full stop for lunch or if snacks, (and coffee) are better after the hill portion.
