Brewster Quick Spin Light to NYC
Primary tabs
A revisit to an old favorite, as we travel north to south, from rural surroundings to urban surroundings.
A nearly traffic-free country to city quick spin pace light w/o the point drop system, unnecessary as we will ride together as a group w/o gapping. Good cycling abilities, instincts, etiquette, and self-sufficiency are required. However, if you have been training and are ready for a little challenge, you are welcome, as we try to maximize our time in the saddle. We will try to maintain a consistent 16 to 17 mph, depending on conditions. Please note, that approx. 36 traffic free trail miles are in remote areas w/ few bailouts, about ½ a mile of hard pack in V. Cortland Pk w/some old rail ties and 2 slight hills in the Bronx.
Please bring lunch, snacks, 2 tubes, plenty of water, sunscreen, gu, peds, and whatever you need to maintain a steady cadence. There will be a brief lunch / rest /pit stop. Check 5BBC bulletin board for a possible cancellation, which will be decided by 7pm the day before. (rain date is Sat. Aug. 12) The ride will end at Dinosaurs on the Westside Greenway @ 125 the street, for maybe a few cold ones
