"Food is as high an elephant's eye." Okay. Not really. But, the portions are good. And, the ride brings us along the comfortable, paved Dutchess County Rail Trail to the resurrected Hopewell Junction Depot with an "N" Gauge model of the Junction & the newly built Signal Tower reproduction. This is one of the best built and mostly flat rail trails ever. It's almost totally traffic free. On our way back , we'll check out the view of the Hudson from the Walkway Over the Hudson, 210 feet over the river. No, the Club does NOT SANCTION BUNGEE JUMPING!

Then, back to Poughkeepsie to take the return train to NYC. Get a window seat for the view of the Hudson.

We start at either Grand Central Terminal 8:43 train. Be there by 8:25 to buy ticket & board the train or 125th St./Harlem station 8:54 train. Be there by 8:40 to buy ticket & board train. Bring a Metro-North pass & money for tickets and lunch.

Please note that the official Club meeting point at GCT is the Information Booth, not on the train.
