Columbus Circle to Union Square via Four Boroughs, Randall's Island and Seven Bridges

Saturday, July 29, 2017 - 09:30

Our ride begins at Columbus Circle. We ride North through Central Park to Harlem and then into the Bronx to Crotona Park.  We circle back to the South Bronx and enter Randall's Island via the Randall's Island Connector pedestrian/bike path to ride along the waterfront for most of our trip as we circumnavigate Randall's Island crossing several bridges along the East River and connecting waterways. The ride continues along the East River Esplanade in Manhattan hugging the waterfront on bike paths/lanes and into Long Island City, Queens. We will stop for lunch at LIC Flea & Food (www.licflea.com) and then move on to Greenpoint and Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Finally we travel back into Manhattan with an end at Union Square.

Note on ride difficulty: While we have listed this ride as a beginner-friendly Happy Face ride, there will be hill climbing on this ride, some in the Bronx but mostly crossing over the East River Bridges.

Bring water, sunscreen, bike lock, money for lunch.

Helmets are mandatory on all 5BBC rides.
