That scenic span you see in the photo is still closed; and the park itself is half complete, plus the weather looks iffy, especially later in the afternoon, with thunder storms predicted, and roads flooded from Saturday's downpour, so we are canceling.

Join us for our annual Mother's Day semi-training scenic adventure to one of the --  truly -- East Coast wonders of the world, The Paterson Falls, and a tour of labor history at the turn of the century in this old "Silk City" mill town that was the inspiration for the American epic, Paterson, by poet W.C. Williams (And the recent Jim Jarmusch film by the same name), and many many labor strikes. Today, as then, Silk City is a metropolis of immigrants, and after touring the falls and museums, we'll lunch at an authentic Peruvian family restaurant where the indigenous drink, chicha morada, flows from pitchers as red as wine.

Note: Although listed as a "Happy Face,"  the ride is definitely not for beginners. So for those who'd like to lunch with no return ride, there is a train from Paterson.

35
