This is always a popular 5BBC ride into the Forgotten Borough. We ride around the north shore of Staten Island, through industry, tract houses, and swamplands, including the wonderful new bike trail.  A brief stop will be made at The Blazing Star Cemetery/Dead Pool.  And then it is off to Kreischerville and Killmeyers.  Kreischerville is an old company town which still has the boss's mansion, its workers' cottages and an adorable tiny church.  Killmeyers has been around since the 1800's, and is a fantastic, bike friendly,  German Bier Halle with great food.  After lunch, we ride around the South Shore climbing up to Fort Wadsworth for breathtaking views of the harbor.  This ride is listed as a moderate ride.  It is 40 miles and is mostly flat, with enough hills to keep you honest.  

We will be meeting at 9:45 at the South Ferry Terminal and will be taking the 10:00 Ferry.  Remember - all 5BBC rides require a helmet.  Please register on line.  In case of bad weather, check the website or fb page.
