Poughkeepsie - New Paltz Loop
Primary tabs

In case it snows in Poughkeepsie this week, we will change the route to David Meltzer's favorite Staten Island Ride. Please, check the ride Friday night to double check if we changed route + location.
Starting and ending in Poughkeepsie this ride will make you forget you are only a few hours away from NYC. You will go across the Hudson to explore rural back roads, farm-stands, meander along the Wallkill river and discover a small yet bustling college town.
Average speed: 14-16 mphs on flat. Road bikes only.
Snack Stops: Waterstreet Market at 22.3 mile in New Paltz
Where we will meet: Grand Central Terminal Train Time: 8:43am to Poughkeepsie
Tickets: Roundtrip to Poughkeepsie + MTA Bike Pass
Ride Link: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/7904455
Ride Stats: 40.9 miles/+1,385 elevation gain
Technical Training Skills: Hill Climbing
The rides will have a fair amount of elevation gain. Take all hills at your own space but pay attention to technique. It is not just about getting to the top, but in learning how to improve your skills at reading a hill, or improving your technique at conquering the hills.
