Hollydays Lights Ride - Pre-Christmas Version
Primary tabs
SUNDAY AFTERNOON UPDATE: Folks with great reluctance we are cancelling and will try to reschedule. The radar looks awful and best case scenario is wet roads with winds of 15-20 mph.
SUNDAY MORNING UPDATE: Rain is on the way, the question, is when will it leave. As of now, the ride is still on, but check back for updates in case we move start time back. Pleas note it will be warm at start of ride but it will get colder, bring layers to add and perhaps stuff if it drizzles.
FRIDAY UPDATE: Well the forecast for Saturday is awful with only a slight chance for a window without rain in the evening. Sunday will also rain and be warmer, but it looks like the rain should be gone (but temps will get cooler during the night, layer up). So the ride is officially moved to Sunday with an early start time of 4:15. Hopefully this works.
Named one of Bicycle Magazine’s Eight Great Holiday Day Rides, the Hollydays’ Lights ride is back again this year and we hope to once again hold this classic ride on two different dates, pre- and post-Christmas. This is the pre-Christmas version. Layer up and come join us for a Christmas ride through parts of western Brooklyn to check out the holiday lights. We will ride at a leisurely pace to lighting displays in Greenwood Heights, Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights and Bensonhurst. Midway we'll stop in Bay Ridge for a chance to get a holiday treat, hot chocolate or perhaps a slice from Nino's. Bring lock and money for food. Helmets are required and all bikes must have both front and rear lights. Also, please wear bright or reflective clothing.
GOOD NEWS: The over the top Bensonhurst three connected houses are back this year after being dark last year.
