Steady paced, fun, no-frills cruise south-bound along the paved North & South County, and the Old Putman, Trailways (rail trails). This is a great route for handling colder temps, and avoiding the hot-cold-sweat-shiver routine which hilly routes can create. We start cycling in Brewster over to the rail trail, and except for a few on-road sections, will be on paved trails with nice views and possible wildlife. Paved trails and roads, but some rough spots.

Participants need by strong riders safe and comfortable in group riding, and capable of maintaining steady 14 MPH pace on the flats over longish distances with few stops. But of course, there will be "necessary" break, and a yummy repast/food break). It may be seasonally chill, so our even pacing, mostly level route, and layers, will support enjoying the day. Pace will also be common sense on this mixed use trail, so controlled speeds with awareness of other users is needed (but typically t'ain't many as chill temps keep them away).

Suitable for road or hybrid bikes; mountain bikes only if you've higher pressure slick tires and/or are capable of maintaining the speeds.
