SATURDAY MORNING UPDATE: Ride is on. Have checked everywhere including radar and forecast is much better for where we are headed. Chance of rain less than 25% throughout if we end on time according to most. AccuWeather predicts during the ride we will get 0.01 inch of drizzle. Winds are forecast even lower around 10-12 mph. Of course it could change, but there is nothing close on the radar, so let's try. See you at 10:00.
FRIDAY NIGHT UPDATE: ride tomorrow remains in flux basically same as below. Check back Saturday morning around 8:00 AM for final status update
FRIDAY MORNING WEATHER UPDATE: the forecast for Saturday is meh. As of now, it looks like most of the day is going to be overcast and that there might be an occasional period of a light shower or drizzle. Overall, there should not be too much rain as total forecast for the daytime period is 0.04 inches of rain. So, as of now the ride is still on, but check back in case of updates.
The first version of this ride was a fun-filled success for all, and we received multiple requests from those unable to make to schedule it again, and schedule it soon.
So, come join us for a new, fun, fairly flat 50 mile ride that combines two of our non-north shore favorite Long Island locations, Garden City and Hewlett Harbor. This may be a ride of a thousand turns, but you will enjoy most of them, as once we arrive at our various destinations, we meander about getting a flavor for the area.
In order to help with planning, if possible, please register for the ride. Bring the usual including snacks, hydration, lunch or money for lunch and a fun inquisitive attitude.
