DUE TO FORECAST DATE CHANGED FROM SATURDAY TO SUNDAY - see below
Sunday, October 23, 2016 - 07:30

UPDATE: Well the current forecast for Saturday remains poor, cooler, very windy and rainy in the afternoon, as I said not what you would want for this beautiful ride. So it is now definite, we are moving the ride to Sunday, which is supposed to be warmer with abundant sunshine and less windy. I will send out an updated logistic email to those who have registered or contacted me, as I have a better sense of who is still in and who needs a ride. If you don't have transportation let me know.

This ride has become a 5BBC classic. Join us for a scenic ride through quaint towns, preserved farmlands and beautiful back roads in Central New Jersey. THIS RIDE REQUIRES PRE-REGISTRATION AND WILL BE LIMITED BASED UPON AVAILABLE CAR POOL SPOTS - YOU MUST EMAIL THE LEADER NOT ONLY REGISTER ONLINE.

We will meet early in the morning in Bay Ridge near the last stop of the R train and carpool to the Cranbury New Jersey area. Options exist to meet the ride at the start in New Jersey. The ride will stop at the historic Walnford Estate for a quick tour and a picnic lunch (you bring lunch with you, there is no food for sale at the Estate). Afterwards, on the way back we make a brief stop at a beautiful winery. The terrain ranges from flat, to small hills to really fun rollers. Mostly we avoid roads with heavy traffic, but there are a few - it is New Jersey. We will again end the ride by a really good ice cream parlor in Cranbury.

This is an advanced moderate ride. We keep a good steady (but not a quick spin) pace in order to be back before dark. There are no bail out options, but hopefully Phil will once again drive SAG.

The ride meets at 7:30 AM in the Dunkin Donuts parking lot on 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge by 93rd Street - we aim to leave by no later than 7:40.

If interested in the ride, please contact Bill Mastro at billm45s@verizon.net and let me know if you need a ride or if you have a car and bike rack and would be willing to take some riders with you. There is a required contribution for those not driving, to help offset the cost of gas and tolls.
