Brooklyn Ramblings: IKEA for brunch & back

Friday, October 21, 2016 - 08:00

Enjoy a refreshing morning ride thru interesting historic 'hoods in  Brooklyn, cruise a bit of the Shore Parkway to work up an appetite; then we hit IKEA for "mangia"  and brunch in their yummy and "bon marche"  restaurant/bistrot.

Of course we'll exit via the food store; lots of convenient Scandanavian yummies that are easily transportable. So bring some carrying capacity.

Bike back to City Hall Park via short/easy bike route. OR at your option, return via ferry to Pier 11 Wall St. dock (in the past it's been a free return trip with receipt for $10 IKEA purchase; check the ferry schedule via IKEA website if this is your preference).

Ride goes unless weather really inclement.  Ride start may be delayed and/or ride shortened, or we may hop onto the subway for a leg of our trip if weather not conducive to riding the whole way. So dress for the weather (layers) as temps/breezes will range throughout our trip. Any ride change or cancellation notices will be posted here on this ride description by 6:30AM the morning of.

Cue sheet/maplet will be emailed to registered riders by noon the day before; please print/bring. We ride as a group, no "point/drop/sweep".

TIP:  Go onto IKEA Brooklyn website and sign up (free) for their family loyalty plan. It gives discounts on IKEA restaurant food items, free coffee, and other merchandise. You can print out your small dongle card on site at their kiosk.
